Photo Shoot Fun

Shortly before Christmas, Aunt Angie and I decided to try a photo shoot with the babies to get our own Christmas pics (without the studio prices). Fun ensued.

It's not easy getting 2 babies to sit still. Especially for one person. (I was shooting, obviously)

We almost had a really nice picture here. But babies are known not to cooperate.

So while Aunt Angie was trying to control Abby (who's highly mobile now, despite the fact that she's still just on the verge of crawling), Mommy zoomed in and snapped a cute one of Ben.

Abby looks as though she's about to smack Ben, who looks to be begging her not to.

But really, a good time was had by all.

We even ended up getting one really good posed picture.

Shortly after that, Ben got cranky. He was tired of Abby trying to chew on him, his head especially, and of all the flash photography and getting moved around. Here, Aunt Angie captured him wiggling his new-found toes, which move ALL the time, while Mommy was calming him down.

The past couple weeks

I know it's been a couple weeks since I've posted, but time flies. Here are some Ben updates.

He's been staying awake more and playing in his swing.

This was the 10th, in the parking lot after he got his first set of vaccines. He was ok with it after it was over.

The 12th, Cousin Kenzie's birthday. Strangely enough, she didn't hover near the camera, but Dylan hammed it up.

Gettin' diaper changed.

HAHA! You'll notice the smile because he just peed on Aunt Tonya.

Playin' for the camera.

He smiles best while he's playing on his back.

Ben was watching TV, again, with Daddy, but decided Mommy was kind of interesting, too.

Here he's learning how to hold a football. Won't be long before he can 'tuck and run.'

Wow, the things that amuse Mommy

Ben's Friends and Family

I'm beginning to get this blog composer figured out. I've tried to put these pictures in order of Ben's age at the time, as closely as I can remember. Of course, he's had visitors and met friends that we don't have pictures of yet, but we'll get to it. Friends who aren't pictured are, of course, his Pepaw (my dad), and lots of his cousins and aunts and uncles from my side, and Mike's friend Shane and his wife Ginger, and their little boy Ryland who just turned 1.

Also, last night we finally met the Roberts clan and their little ones. Trevor was SO excited to meet Ben. He had his hand sanitizer out of his pocket before I could even get Ben out of the carrier. I'll have to get some pics to post.

Ben and Mamaw Kerr...

With Pop-pop...

cousin Seth got to hold him.

and Mamaw Debbie (Ben is the tiny bundle)

Here's Ben grinnin' in his sleep with Nan-nan (this was the first grin caught on camera)

Here's a little clearer picture of Nan-nan.

Here's our friend Abby and her mom, Angie (Mommy's best friend)

Abby was Ben's first kiss.

Uncle Bob came in from Texas to see us as fast as he could.

Uncle B finally got to hold Ben when he was almost 3 weeks old. He was afraid at the hospital.

This is B's girlfriend, Ashly. She likes Ben.

On Thanksgiving, we went to Pepaw and Nono's (Nono is Nora). Here's Ben with Nono and Aunt Tori.

And here's Tori and Aunt Letti. Letti was boning up on her sale papers for Black Friday.

Thanksgiving weekend we had breakfast at Cracker Barrel with Mamaw Debbie and Aunt Tonya and her family. Here Ben gives a wierd look for Aunt Tonya and the Camera.

And finally, here's Daddy's best friend Rocky. Rocky and Ben are good buddies. They're prepping to watch the SEC Championship game. Too bad we lost.

Early Christmas!

Last week Mommy got her Christmas present early so that I could make good use of it; a new Sony DSLR digital camera. That said, here are some pictures of Ben with my new camera. Hopefully this will be all I use from here on out, but I do have to say sometimes it's easier to just grab my phone so there may still be some grainy pictures from time to time.

This is a test shot from the first night. Ben was watching TV.

Ben was finally talking to Daddy instead of having his eyes glued to the tube.

There were lots of close-ups of Ben on this day. We were at Pop-pop's and Nan-nan's for the SEC Championship game. Ben wore his colors, but after the loss he said to heck with it, he needed jammies.

Ben's weekly birthday picture. Here he is playing in his Boppy. I put the red blanket over it to test different background colors. Red looks ok with his skin tone, but I don't think the lighting was quite right.

Here's Ben laughing at Abby, and Aunt Angie laughing at Ben. We were getting ready to go to Lilli Roberts' 3rd birthday party.

Here's a close-up, because I love close-ups, and Ben is just so darn cute.

Pics from the last 3 weeks

These pictures seem to just have come up in random order, but that's ok. Tomorrow, Ben is 8 weeks old. Here's some things he's been up to in the last 3 weeks.

Ben and Abby went to the mall together for the first time. He slept like a log, while Abby was too distracted. I guess that's the difference in girls and guys.

This is Ben's close up at the food court.

Ben really likes to sit up. Here he is in his boppy with Quacker.

He likes baths, too. Here's happy Ben wrapped in his Tigger robe.

This is his 6 week birthday.

He seems to always be in a good mood on his birthday.

Ben has found his thumb, but he doesn't use it very often.

This is one of my favorite faces that Ben makes. He seems to be saying, "What you talkin' bout, Willis?"

Here he is again sitting up. Of course, he falls over easily, but we think he's way ahead of his age.

As expected...

I'm a little behind in updating the blog. Aside from my own habit of procrastination, I'm just getting used to the whats and whens of having Ben around. I've really just now gotten him to start going down for naps without me, a lot because I haven't wanted to put him down, too. Anyway, I thought I'd post some pictures from 5 weeks of Benjamin.

I can't date all the pics, but I know this is from his first week or so.

This one is from his 2nd week after a good nap with daddy.

The first time he clutched a toy.

Ben in his bouncy seat.

Wrapped in his soft Pooh blanket

This was Halloween. He was a skeleton. In this picture, he looks a little like Emperor Palpitine, though.

In his Daddy's Little Monster bib.

The day of the Arkansas game. His first time showing his colors.

His 5 week birthday (today), he smiled GREAT big for mommy's phone.

and he did it again, only less blurry.
